Tampa, FL (April 27, 2017) Building on the momentum from the VA’s recent pilot of the VistA.js Data Federation Platform and Apex’s creation of a turn-key Cloud-based eHMP application development platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS), Apex Data Solutions announced today that it has successfully deployed both platforms to Microsoft Azure.

The open-source VistA.js Data Federation Platform democratizes access to VistA data, using a Web-centric approach for accessing and aggregating data from the over 130 VistA instances deployed across the VA healthcare system. The Medication Reconciliation and Allergy Review (MRAR) Web application was the first clinical application to leverage the VistA.js platform and enables clinicians and patients to collaborate, review, and reconcile, a Veteran’s medications and allergies at the point of care, using real-time federated data across all VistA instances.
In furtherance of the VA’s and OSEHRA’s open-source initiatives, Apex transformed the VA’s Enterprise Health Management Platform (eHMP) development stack into a simple, manageable, and turn-key development platform. Apex has mitigated the challenges with installing and configuring the eHMP stack, thereby empowering developers to focus on eHMP-related development. Using the automated approach developed by the Apex team, the entire collection of eHMP servers and dependencies can be created quickly via a single command, on any Cloud computing platform, with a significant reduction in eHMP-related system resources necessary to support the eHMP development environment.
